Anyone that has spent a day on the boat with me or listened to the Musky 360 Podcast can assure you that I have zero interest in anything other than muskies. However this extremely rare Tennessee sturgeon was a surprise catch during a recent guide trip.
While fishing muskie sized swim jigs along the bottom around mid day this prehistoric fish decided to pick one up and take us for an unforgettable ride.
This sturgeon was caught on camera and documented and will be featured in an upcoming episode of Musky Shop TV. Once in the net I immediately contacted local fisheries management and was able to share important data about this amazingly rare sturgeon catch in Tennessee.
This sturgeon was safely handled and released in the original location that it was caught.
Southern waters continually amaze me with their rich bio diversity....you truly don't know whats lurking just below the surface.
